Technology in Orthognathic Surgery
Orthognathic surgery is one of the most complex surgical procedures that we performs. It requires extensive planning and months of preparation. Our will use multiple x-rays, photographs, and models of your jaw to simulate the surgery and predict the surgical results prior to actually performing the procedure. It is not uncommon to spend four to eight hours actually doing the surgical preparation prior to the surgery. Plastic splints will be made, prior to surgery, that Dr. Hassan Sadek will use during the procedure to try to ensure the best result possible. Computer imaging can also be used prior to the surgery to review potential postoperative changes.
If you are a candidate for orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), Dr. Sadek will work closely with orthodontists and general dentists during the treatment. The actual patient satisfaction from this procedure is generally very high.
