Tumor surgery

There a lot of tumors that varies from less than 1 cm in diameter and length to very extensive in size that requires more than hemimandibulectomy which means resection of more than half of the jaw, depending on the size and aggressiveness of the tumor lesion.

In case of extensive resection reconstruction of the defect is mandatory to the patient to restore both functions and esthetics.

The use of reconstruction plates to shape and form the defected jaw and to restore the proper contour of the face, also bone grafting is used to compensate for the osseous defect created by the resected part of the jaw. Also dental rehabilitation by means of obturators is very important to restore the quality of life for these patients.
